North Carolina Synthetic Slate and Copper done in 2014-2015

This vacation home is nestled in the mountains of North Carolina.  Synthetic slate for the roof and copper for all trims, fascia and gable siding.

Copper trims were all custom design by Goodhew Contracting.

Copper siding made from from flat stock on metal brake.

Copper vents were later installed for exhast vents.  Again all custom made and soldered.

Vents installed onto rock exterior.

Ewebank-Loudermilk Restoration July 2021-Current

The Ewebank-Loudermilk house was built in 1883.  The current owner is restoring to like new condition to retain listing on the national register.

The main house is a full 2 story home so scaffolding was used around all sides to allow for ease of restoration.

The original box (secret) gutters were in bad shape and the lumber needed to be replaced.  Local rough cut Locust was used to match the original construction.

Notice the original standing seam metal roof (138 years old) still in good shape.

The upper roof had some lumber and a roof hatch to replace.  Again, rough cut, local Locust was utilized.

The original box gutter was eliminated to prevent future issues.

Once the new roof line was created, ice and the sheeting was refastened, a layer of ice & water-shield underlayment was installed.
